TITUS Research GmbH
TITUS Research conducts research on highly automated and autonomous systems together with industry and science partners. With increasing digitization, the use of these future-oriented systems will revolutionize the areas of production, logistics and many other topics of daily and economic life. For the successful implementation and establishment of autonomous systems, we are working intensively on dedicated infrastructures and adequate organizational forms. This includes the corresponding sensor technologies to be used as well as the topic of 5G. With increasing digitization, the use of autonomous systems will revolutionize the areas of production, logistics and security in particular, as well as many other topics of daily life.
During their missions, autonomous systems are capable of perceiving and recognising their environment without human intervention. An autonomous system can imitate typical human processing and control mechanisms. Unlike automated systems, which require pre programmed sequences of actions for their operations and cannot change their sequences of actions independently, autonomous systems are able to achieve their specific goals without detailed programming and can adapt to situational contexts and unpredictable events. The enrichment of our lives by autonomous systems will make the accomplishment of our everyday tasks more precise, efficient, safe and faster. For example, vaccines can be transported to very remote locations in a very short time or large areas can be monitored without the need for human personnel.
We mainly deal with autonomous systems of three categories, each with indoor and outdoor applications: autonomous air vehicles, autonomous surface vehicles and autonomous water vehicles.
