SAFE is the French competitiveness cluster dedicated to Aerospace, Security, Safety and Defence sectors. Supported by the state, Region SUD, and territorial entities, it federates more than 450 members: SME, industrial groups, research centers and institutional bodies. Its activities are focused on emergence and support to innovation, partnerships between companies, academics as well as end-users, this at the European level, SME business development, and finally industrial structuration of territories.

Its key segments of activity are: helicopters, unmanned vehicles, airships, satellite solutions, defence, protection of critical infrastructures, large events' security and resilient cities and territories.

SAFE has a dedicated drone activity that is based on a dynamic environment, set up by the cluster for three years: pilot and test areas, market events including an international benchmark seminar, support and set-up of more than twenty R&D drone-related projects.
Safe is positioned on the security and transport markets and supports in particular projects related to the following uses: critical infrastructures and sensitive sites, transport of sensitive goods (Medical), transport of non-sensitive goods (packages), monitoring and provision of services for cooperative drones, counter drones as part of the protection of sensitive sites.
