From June 22 to 26, 2022, the ILA took place in Berlin. At the joint booth of the states of Berlin-Brandenburg, the CURPAS network was represented with a booth on the topic of the use of unmanned aerial systems. With the support of TITUS Research GmbH, a workshop on "Drones (UAS) part of the airspace" and a meeting of the European Drones Cooperation were organized.
It was three very successful trade visitor days (Wednesday to Friday) and two eventful visitor days (Saturday and Sunday) for the CURPAS network. Although the main focus of the ILA is on manned aviation, the interest in the topic of unmanned aerial systems was clearly noticeable.

Brandenburg Innovation Cluster advances to the Bundesliga of clusters. With this initiative, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) supports outstanding innovation clusters from Germany in their further development. The main focus is on networking clusters with other organizations both in Germany and internationally. CURPAS is the second innovation cluster headquartered in Brandenburg, which can look forward to its inclusion as part of BMWi's cluster-political excellence measure.

The project "Unmanned Flight Systems as Optimization Tools" (Acronym UFO) initiated by CURPAS e.V. in November 2020 was successfully completed on 30.04.2021. UFO was funded by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Energy (MWAE) with funds from the European Social Fund and the State of Brandenburg. The project is part of the "Promoting Social Innovations in the State of Brandenburg" program of the Economic Development Agency Brandenburg (WFBB), and it makes a significant contribution to the qualification of skilled workers and companies in the digital labour market. www.ufo-brandenburg.de

The CURPAS e. V. and the European Drones Cooperation (EDC) are inviting all interested parties to take part in an exciting survey concerning the transposition of EU law into national law in the field of the use of drones (Unmanned Aerial Systems, UAS). The association wants to use the results in order to gain insight into the economic potential of professionally used UAS
The CURPAS survey aims to use the expert opinion of professionals involved with drones to assess the impact of transposition of European UAS requirements to national legislation. Moreover, this topic raises yet another question of how to evaluate the further development of the economic use of UAS. CURPAS e.V. and the EDC would like to actively promote the development process and the economic use of autonomous systems in Germany and throughout Europe.
Anyone interested in the professional use of UAS and the current national/European legal situation in this area is welcome to participate.

The European Drones Cooperation (EDC) is pleased to welcome the
Andalucia Aerospace Cluster as a new member. On 05 March 2021, the signing of the contract took place in a digital conference attended by the other EDC members from Poland, France, Belgium, Denmark and Germany.
The EDC is a cooperation of European drone organisations founded in June 2019 on the initiative of CURPAS e. V. and UAS Denmark. The members of the EDC aim to contribute to innovation in the field of drone technologies and their use across Europe. In addition, the EDC intents to establish itself as a common voice to strengthen its members on a European level. Together, the network has participated in European funding programmes and at several events and conferences.

Gold Member and CURPAS network partner TITUS Research successfully accomplished the starting phase of a project which utilizes drones at the "Schwarze Pumpe" location.
The goal of the project was to show possibilities of implementing the use of drones into everyday surveillance and monitoring tasks at the industrial and commercial locations of the Lausitz area based on models and applicable simulations.

The CMM (Connected mobile Machines & Mobility) is an annual event dealing with the development and networking of mobile devices. It will be held as a digital conference on December 1 and 2, 2020, at the Hanover Exhibition Center. The CMM focuses on solutions, technical components and services that make mobile machines and vehicles intelligent or autonomous. It is about the development and wireless networking of mobile machines and vehicles and their connection to a stationary infrastructure. CURPAS e.V. develops into a professional association for autonomous systems. Founded as an association for unmanned aviation, CURPAS has become one of the leading networks, providing a platform for manufacturers, research institutions, users and system houses to start projects together and to strengthen the interests of unmanned aviation together.
While the focus of 'unmanned aviation' was previously more on the word 'aviation', the word 'unmanned' is now to form the core of the association. In a fundamental decision CURPAS is expanding its field of activity to unmanned mobility and logistics solutions of all kinds. No matter if by water, by land, by rail or by air.

Christmas greetings
Last week was announced under https://ec.europa.eu/transport/modes/air/news/2019-05-24-rules-operating-drones_en the adaption of the European Drone Regulation.
While these regulations are now being implemented and thus define, when and how a UAV – flight should be performed, more and more the question arises about the current state of technology. In addition to the regulative versions of the European Commission (EC) is at the moment the responsible European Standadization Body ASD-STAN (D05/WG08 UAS Unmanned Aircraft System ) in the process of defining the actual state of technology and thus to develop Standards and Norms.

As an association, CURPAS e.V. offers a broad network for a wide variety of actors in the UAS industry and supports them with cooperation in a wide diversity of projects. This work aims to promote the Berlin/Brandenburg business location and to support companies' competitiveness.

"Meanwhile, we've been generating about 50% of our profit in the unmanned-systems industry", according to Florian Schildein, managing director of Butter and Salt GmbH. Please be informed that Company “ CURPAS e. V. “, located at the City of 1547 Wildau and “ Frank Fuchs Consulting “, located at the City of Frankfurt am Main “, are working jointly together as from 01 May 2018. This is released just in time before the ILA 2018.
The cooperation of the two companies was decided, in order to improve and supporting the development of “ unmanned flight systems “ (drones) in the civilian sector.
