MSc. Oek. Gerhard Janßen is Managing Director of the Dahme-Spreewald Economic Development Corporation, the Technology and Start-up Centre Wildau and the Aerospace Centre in Wildau.
With a total area of around 23,000 square meters, the Center for Aerospace in Wildau has developed into one of the largest compact technology locations in Brandenburg. More than 60 companies from high-tech industries with more than 500 highly qualified employees have already established themselves in the immediate vicinity of the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and in close proximity to the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Wildau and the Polymer Materials and Composites PYCO research department of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research IAP.
Especially companies from the aviation industry have found the right infrastructure here in search of a representative company location, production halls and office space. The spectrum ranges from companies that test engine components (Anecom Aerotest GmbH) and engineering service providers (FTT Florida Turbine Technologies Deutschland GmbH) to companies that develop prototypes for small aircraft (REINER STEMME Utility Air-Systems GmbH). The proximity to the Technical Universities in Wildau offers ideal conditions for cooperation between industry and science. Companies benefit from research and development projects, personnel transfer and further training opportunities. Numerous partnership-based events such as the "Aerospace Day Berlin Brandenburg", the "Lilienthal Prize" award ceremony, the international "InnoTesting" conference or the "Young Professionals Aerospace" lecture series have raised the profile of the location nationwide.
