Prof. Dr. Wojciech Moczulski - Silesian Technical University in Gliwice
Wojciech Moczulski studied mathematics at the Silesian University in Katowice. In 1973 he began his scientific work at the Silesian Technical University in Gliwice – first at the Interfaculty Institute of Mechanics and Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering, then at the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology, where he has been a full professor since 2003. His research focuses on applications of artificial intelligence, technical diagnostics of machines and processes, signal and image processing, sensory and visual systems, and much more. Since 2003, she has been involved in the research and development of mobile robots, with a particular focus in recent years on unmanned aerial vehicles. He supported 15 doctoral students and authored or co-authored more than 300 publications. He has participated in numerous research projects, including those co-financed by the EU. He is currently the coordinator of the project "Long-endurance UAV for collecting air quality data with high spatial and temporal resolutions" (LEADER) under the Applied Research Programme of the Norwegian Funds and the European Economic Area (EEA) Funds. Since 2007, he has been in charge of the AI-METH Student Circle for Applications of Artificial Intelligence – the leading student scientific group of the Silesian Technical University.
From 2007 to 2019 he was a freelance editor of the journal "Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence. "
In 2013, he co-founded the spin-out company on the campus of the Silesian University of Technology, initially under the name SkyTech Research sp. z o. o. , now under the name AuRoVT sp. z o. o. (Automatyka, Robotics and Virtual Teleportation).
The current research direction can be described as "robot-based monitoring and diagnostics. "
He is a member of the Silesian Aviation Cluster. Privately, he is a licensed pilot for tourist planes.
