Philipp Sigmund - TITUS Research GmbH
Philipp Sigmund is responsible for the department "Operations" at TITUS Research GmbH. Based on the classic operating system known from computers, the area deals with the control and administration tasks of larger system associations, such as those found or will be found at airports, inland ports and seaports as well as in the cities of the future. Similar to the computer, the operating system determines the demands, efficiently manages existing resources and capacities by using optimization methods and commands/ missions are assigned to the individual systems. As part of the CURPAS annual conference, Mr. Sigmund will present what characterizes the newly founded department "Operations" and what vision and research questions it is working on.
Before Philipp Sigmund became part of the TITUS team, he gained experience in various development projects in the fields of combined heat and power (CHO machines), engine development and aircraft propulsion technology. His academic career extends from studying mechanical engineering, a master's degree in jet engine technology, to teaching technical mechanics and optimization of dynamic systems as a research assistant at the Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus-Senftenberg.
