Julius Petri

Julius Petri is a highly motivated agronomic data specialist with a strong geospatial and analytical skill set and expert knowledge in the domains of precision agriculture, field experimentation, remote sensing and a solid foundation in agronomy. His interdisciplinary background an enthusiasm for IT helps him to drive an agile precision agriculture roadmap. Currently employed as Head of Product at PIX4D where he is responsible for the roadmap and strategic decisions for the products PIX4Dfields in agriculture and PIX4Dreact in public safety.

In addition he engage strongly in global business development, marketing and content creation to promote the products of PIX4D. His role is also responsible for the support of public research projects.

During his past position at John Deere he helped to build, organise and manage a start‑up‑like team of students from scratch to assess the benefits of precision agriculture solutions within a network of research farms. He had the chance to work on a lot of challenging projects in the domain of precision agriculture together with partners from industry as well as public organizations. His tasks included the setupand statistical analysis of on‑farm research trials in Germany and Russia with state‑of‑the‑art Ag. technology based on prescription maps and complete digital documentation. He gained extensive knowledge in acquiring, processing and analysing of remote sensing data for plant growth and yield assessment. An important part of his work was the validation of external map/model providers and sensors which assist farmers with agronomic decision support. This combined with close contact to real farmers on a day to day basis gave him a deep knowledgeof this specific industry and what the customer really needs.
